TRAVELLING WITH BABY
The mere thought of travelling with your baby might be overwhelming at first but when you make up your mind and just do it, it’s never as hard as you imagined. You might worry about how to keep her still in your car or in a bus for hours if you are travelling by road or how to manage feeding and dirty diapers. Make it easy for you and your baby; be prepared! Make a checklist, add to it and subtract from it till you’re satisfied. Being prepared ahead of time will guarantee you a successful travel experience. Your checklist should include:
- Plastic bags for dirty diapers
- Tissue papers
- Clothes, socks, shoes
- Your baby’s favourite toys or books
- Plastic feeding set
- Formula, water, juice, snacks, things your baby loves to eat
- A lamplight
- A first aid kit
- A car seat for safer travel by car or plane
Slow down, don’t over pack. If you’re traveling by plane, book a seat that has a bassinet or car seat connection. Your baby can sleep in it while you rest your back. Make sure that your tablet and phone are fully charged and bring their chargers along too. Keep your child entertained with watching her favourite nursery rhyme videos or playing her favourite games. You can also sing songs and tell exciting stories. Just keep her interested through the journey.
All of these might seem like a herculean task but being determined, organized and ready will help you scale through.
