Naisula Lesuuda is a Kenyan Politician and Women’s Rights Activist. She is currently a member of the Parliament of Samburu West. Lesuuda was born on the 30th of April, 1984. She graduated from Daystar University, Nairobi with a degree in Communications and Community Development. She achieved popularity when she worked as a News Anchor at KBC, Kenya’s State Broadcaster. She later resigned from her job as a journalist to form the Naisula Lesuuda Peace Foundation. She is also a founding member of Laikipia Peace Caravan. The Naisula Lesuuda Peace Foundation campaigns against child marriage and female genital mutilation. It also supports and promotes girl child education.
In 2013, Lesuuda was nominated a senator, becoming the youngest at the time in the Kenyan Senate. She’s also the youngest Kenyan woman to win the prestigious Presidential Order of the Grand Warrior Award. ??????
