When you get to that cycle in motherhood where your baby starts walking, and you look back at the photos you took when they were tiny ,you are amazed at how you took care of your precious baby till they got so big. That period of total commitment, mentally, physically and spiritually has made a huge impact on my life as a mother and a person.
Let me share with you five things I learned during my first year of motherhood:
1. To trust my instincts. `zI learnt to have more confidence in myself.
I know my baby best.
2. To relax! That it is more important to enjoy things than to constantly
worry about getting things right.
3. I can survive without a lot less sleep than I ever thought!
4. Not to compare myself to other moms as motherhood is not a competition.
5.That I didn’t know what love was until I held my baby for the first time.
What about you African Mommy, what did you learn from your first year of motherhood?
