Does it get easier when kids grow older? I would say yes. But it is not that simple. You’ll go from having sleepless nights, getting milked mercilessly and juggling piles of diapers to getting much more sleep and not having to carry a baby around on your hip. So yes, it gets easier physically. You get a bit more space and time to yourself and it even gets better. You can start to do new things like learning a new skill, taking up some courses or a new job.
As your kids grow older, you’ll find that you’ll have to start making bigger decisions. You’ll go from wondering what brand of diapers to choose or the kind of cereal your baby likes to trying to fix some emotional problems your child has from school or something even bigger, like puberty.
You’ll feel the freedom of not having to carry your baby around on your hip but you’ll still feel some kind of detachment when he starts to do things on his own without your help.
It doesn’t get easier, it will just be really different. Tell us what you think in the comment box.
