Man Crush Monday: Simbarashe Mhuriro

Man Crush Monday: Zimbabwean Simbarashe Mhuriro is the founder of Oxygen Energy, a company that focuses on energy development. It specialises in utility scale power plants and commercial rooftop solar projects.

Mhuriro was born 33 years ago in Zimbabwe. He grew up working different jobs including being a Disk Jockey, a teacher in a local school amongst other jobs until he got the opportunity to move to Dubai. At the age of 25, he decided to form his own company and teamed up with two experienced operators. They founded Oxygen Africa Limited with the aim of bringing investment to the Mining and Agricultural sub-sectors of Zimbabwe. His big breakthrough came when he met a principal partner of Meeco Group, a company with offices in 42 countries around the world.

In 2016, Forbes Magazine named Simbarashe Mhuriro among Africa’s 30 Most Promising and Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs. In 2017, he was named one of the honourees in the 2017 Business and Entrepreneurship Category by the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) Under 40. ??????
