intimidating

I think society treats Bullying too lightly, and it just pushes the topic away due to a lack of understanding and what people go through when they do get bullied. Bullying is a serious problem, especially in schools around the country.

Studies have shown that 1 in 7 students in a school are either a bully or have been a victim of bullying. The number of children aged 5-17 that miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students is alarming.

Sadly, most schools are not on top of it. A School should be a safe environment for kids but unfortunately that’s often not the case.

You expect the teachers also to help out but sadly, the teachers don’t do anything. Teachers should suspend bullies, not just give them a detention or get parents involved or call the police if necessary because when teachers don’t do anything, the bullying happens the next day again and then it can be worse.

Bullying can cause anxiety, and it can make a child isolated, which is very dangerous especially in the teenage years. There are more deaths from suicide which can often result from bullying.

It is essential for For parents, school staff and other adults to be aware of the ways to prevent bullying.

Start by talking to children about what bullying is and how to stand up to it safely. Tell children bullying is unacceptable.

Parents should communicate and check in on their kids often, Listen to them, know their friends, ask about school, and understand their concerns. Kids who know what bullying is can better identify it.

Encourage children to speak to a trusted adult if they are bullied or see others being intimidated.

Talk to them about how to stand up to kids who bully. Give tips, like using humor and saying “stop” directly and confidently.

Talk about what to do if those actions don’t work, like walking away.
Encourage your kids to do what they love, to take part in the activities, interests, and hobbies they like. Also, children learn from an adult’s action. By treating others with kindness and respect, adults show the children in their lives that there is no place for bullying.
