Summer holiday is a time to unwind and relax with the family but it can get tough and tiring. When kids are home all day, free from the normal school routine, they can get bored easily and boredom often leads to inattentiveness, whining and other mischief. This can also affect the sanity of parents or other caregivers, if you know what I mean.
Summer is also a time for kids to build memories. They will look back at vacations, trips to the zoo, picnics and other outings with nostalgia. Here are 10 easy ways to keep your kids occupied for the summer:
1. Plan a play date. Play dates are special occasions arranged for children to play together. Play dates are fabulous opportunities for your child or children to make new friends or learn social activities. it is also a great time for moms to unwind, read a novel or whatever you love.
2. Take them to the zoo. Let them talk to the animals and feed them too. This will leave them with loads of beautiful memories of summer.
3. Teach them some gardening skills and allow them do it themselves. You could teach them to plant greens. Greens are quick and reliable plants that grows fast.
4. Start a chores chart. Chores like making the bed, doing dishes can keep the kids very busy. You can also rearrange furniture together. .
5. Teach them how to start small businesses like making and selling lemonades on a stand. They can learn how to give from this by encouraging them to give to charity.
6. Take them to the beach. Build sand castles, fly a kite and hunt for shells. We know they love to do these.
7. Play board/word games. Scrabble, Candyland, Spelling Bee, Chess or Monopoly, depending on age and inclination. This will keep them away from too much TV and help to sharpen their memory so they can retain all they have learnt in school.
8. Don’t forget the books. Try to have some fun getting the summer homework done. You can also get them busy with summer classes. Read some fun books together too.
9 Plan a picnic or two. You can invite their friends too. This can go wrong and become stressful when you don’t plan right.
10. Take them swimming. Teach them how to swim if they don’t already know. Play fun games in the pool. You will create memories your kids will never forget

I actually love the idea of swimming. I have other ideas in mind like giving her basics of sewing, teach her how to apply nail polish, take her out on a date and brush up her maths for next session… And no holiday summer coaching. I need her to cool off, really.
Well? noted
