11 WEEKS PREGNANT

1 and 2 weeks pregnant

At 11 weeks pregnant, your little one is looking almost human now and you should also feel just a little better yourself even though your hormones are still raging. Here’s what to expect:

YOUR GROWING BABY
Your baby now measures about 1.6 inches and weighs about .25 ounces. He’s now as big as a lime! Even though he’ll fit in the palm of your hand, he now has proper fingers and toes, a tongue with taste buds and facial features.

11 WEEKS PREGNANT SYMPTOMS

Nausea
You might still feel the morning sickness all day but don’t worry, you should have only about a week or two left of queasiness as most moms-to-be get over their nausea by the second trimester.

Mood Swings
Blame this on your raging hormones. You feel like you’re on a roller coaster of emotions. Try some yoga to relax your nerves and also avoid crowd situations that can get you cranky.

Fatigue
You might still find yourself permanently exhauted but you can expect a surge of energy in the second trimester. While you wait, allow yourself enough rest.

Frequent urination
hCG increases the blood flow to your pelvic area and kidneys and this will make you feel the need to take toilet trips all the time. This doesn’t mean you should reduce your fluid intake, remember your body and your baby need them.

Leg cramps
If you get painful cramps in your legs that interfere with your sleep at night, take a look at your diet to be sure you’re getting enough potassium and magnesium. Also drink plenty of water.

Linea Nigra This dark line that runs down the center of your belly is caused by hormonal changes and isn’t permanent though it might stick around for a while after you give birth, especially if you breastfeed. (Because of the hormones involved with breastfeeding.)

11 WEEKS PREGNANT BELLY AND BODY
You might not be showing yet especially if it’s your first pregnancy but your 11 weeks pregnant belly is starting to develop a full-on baby bump instead of just gas and bloating. You’ll notice that your breasts have really changed and it’s time to shop for new, comfy and stretchy bras. If you plan to breastfeed, get some nursing bras too.

11 WEEKS PREGNANT ULTRASOUND
Your baby’s skin is still see-through at this stage but it will get more opaque with time. Her fingers and toes are no longer webbed and she now has distinct human characteristics such as nasal passages and visible nipples. Hair follicles form on the crown and the rest of the body this week and nail bed are starting to develop.
